Velpari is one of the finest works of Sahitya Akademi Award-winning writer Su Venkatesan. After he serialised the story of the great Tamil king in leading Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan, which successfully ran for more than 100 weeks, the series has been brought out in book by Vikatan Publications.
The novel was launched at a grand function in Chennai by Leader of Opposition of Tamil Nadu Assembly and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M K Stalin. Su Venkatesan’s Pari is a Velir tribal king, broad-shouldered, long-haired, and moustachioed.
